Control on Luna

Control Review

If you love a conceptual action-adventure game that keeps you hooked to your console then Control is the game for you. The game was released a year and a half ago and it has already earned the praise of critics and gamers alike. Control is developed by Remedy Entertainment and published by 505 games for all major platforms including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation5, and Amazon Luna. The Google Stadia is the only missing platform in this game’s list but that doesn’t matter for now since Control has its feet dug deep in the gaming world.

Story

The game starts with you assuming the character of Jesse Faden, who has just made the office of the Director of the Federal Bureau of Control (FBC). The FBC is a top-secret government agency that works to control and study a phenomenon that defies reality. Your job as the Bureau chief is difficult and challenging but you need to harness your courage and strength to defeat all and any obstacles that come your way.

You scavenge through FBC’s paranormal headquarters called the Oldest House, where you, playing the character of Jesse Faden must harness your super abilities to fight against your deadliest enemy – Hiss. You must collect random items from the Oldest House to acquire supernatural abilities by absorbing the energies stored in these objects. All this is necessary to destroy your biggest enemy who is distorting reality and adamant about destroying the world.

Gameplay

Control is a highly riveting game that rejoices your senses and keeps you coming back for more. The sharp and interesting storyline coupled with a brilliantly designed game universe and excellent game physics makes this game remarkably appealing.

As is natural with exploratory games the third person setting makes things easy to spot. There is not much shooting you have to do so the first-person perspective doesn’t sound too attractive here. You can move around freely within the game universe just as long as you are careful and up to the task. Often there are events in the game that take you by surprise like the floor suddenly collapsing or the walls falling taking you into an other-worldly place. You are presented with multiple challenges as well during the game as you try to acquire the otherworldly powers. You have to complete these challenges with flying colors to be able to keep your newfound powers.

Such a theme makes the game highly exhilarating. You are constantly tested to prove yourself mentally and physically. What’s more, you get to try and perfect the abilities you recently acquired.

Graphics

The graphic details on the Control are extremely amazing. The characters look very real, their facial expressions, the details on their face, and body movements are fluid. In other words, Control offers everything and more in terms of graphic ability. The fight scenes are brilliant and full of color. You can see objects from far away and you can even make you friend or foe from a good distance as well. Usually, with games like Control that are set in a dark theme, it is hard to distinguish enemy creatures and objects from the background. Control foes do not have that problem and since you can see better, you can play better too.

There is not much we would want to change in Control concerning Graphics because the game is well thought out and it shows that Remedy Entertainment has put their heart and mind into the game’s development.

Control on Luna is visually amazing

Performance

Control works very well on all platforms. The game runs perfectly on 60 fps so there is hardly any lag or glitches during gameplay. The game universe is also perfectly designed that all the details are captured in the scene, unlike other games where if you move away the detail fades away as well. The lighting in the entire game is commendable. You can see everything allowing you to act instantly against enemies.
Given this fact, we are excited to see what this game will do once it is available on the next-generation PlayStation and Xbox consoles that will have a high frame rate and high resolution. It will certainly be a treat to enjoy Control in 4K with the fastest frame rate.

Control performs on Amazon Luna pretty well

Final Thoughts

Control is a game made for adventure seekers and for those who like a good story in a game. The game gets a bit tedious at times but constant enemies and challenges keep things refreshed. We would highly recommend playing Control if you want to experience some mind-bending fun.
