Sonic on Amazon Luna

Sonic Mania Review

The Sonic game franchise is perhaps the most famous and well-known worldwide. The latest iteration in the game series is Sonic Mania which was released in 2017 by Sega on all the major gaming platforms with the Amazon Luna version appearing along with the service itself during the early preview stage.

Sonic Mania was developed as a tribute to the 25th anniversary of the Sonic: The Hedgehog series. The new game acts and works with the same brilliance as the earlier games. You get to play on 12 exciting levels that include some old stages as well.

Story

Sonic Mania is based on the same story as the other games. The three main characters Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles must defeat their enemy, Dr. Robotnik, in epic battles that involve a lot of high-speed chases.

Gameplay

Sonic Mania is a side-scroll style game, which means you don’t get to experience your favorite characters in 3d. That might be kind of a back-step but many users love the old style of gaming. In the game, like before, you get to select one of the three characters that each have their special ability. Sonic can perform a speed dash, Tails can fly and swim, and Knuckles can glide and climb on walls.

If you want, you can control Sonic and Tails as a single player, or someone else can join in and control Tails. Sonic can access special abilities inside Sonic Mania that were available to him in the Sonic CD and Sonic 3 & Knuckles.

The twelve levels are full of action-packed adventure. If you are familiar with the gameplay of the old Sonic games, then playing Sonic Mania should not be a problem.

Final Thoughts

Sonic Mania takes you on a trip down memory lane, where you can once again enjoy the adventures of Sonic and his friends. The game is very easy and fun to play but challenging at the same time, so you would have to think twice before attempting to jump, glide, or fly through obstacles.

Sonic Mania

A great, classic addition to the Amazon Luna library - Something thats familiar, 2D and a fun side-scrolling adventure. We managed to complete the game without any performance issues. Give this a go!
